Man in The Lake of Fire

One Hundred Billion Years From Now,
And The Nightmare Has Only BEGUN…

The vast majority of people believe (or at least hope) that they will be with God in heaven when they die.  In a marked contrast, a recent Gallup Poll revealed that only 4%  of those questioned believed that they stood a good chance of going to hell.

God's Word contains twice as many warnings about hell as it does promises of heaven.  When a disciple asked Jesus if only a minority of all people would be saved, He replied "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the path that leads to destruction, and there are many that go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the path that leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matt.7:13-14; Luke 13:23-28)

What, unfortunately, will eternity be like for the vast majority of mankind?

MATTHEW 13:50  (Speaking of the unsaved) "...cast them into the furnace of fire.  There will be screaming and gnashing of teeth."

MATTHEW 25:46 "And these will go away into everlasting punishment..."

Some people believe that hell will only be an annihilation - a ceasing of conscious existence.  But God says otherwise, in this passage relating the fate of a man who had gone to hell.

LUKE 16:23-25,27-29 "And being in torment in hell, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off... then he cried and said 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am  tormented in this flame.'  But Abraham said 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.'  Then he said 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's  house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.'  Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the Prophets (the Bible), let them hear them!'"

It is clear from Jesus' own words that the punishment of hell will be a fiery, sensory torture that will never end.

2 THESSALONIANS 1:9 "Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power."

REVELATION 14:10-11 (The unsaved) "... shall be tormented with fire and sulphur in the presence of the holy angels... and the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they will have no rest day or night..."  (See also Rev.20:14-15; 21:8)

It is not a matter of whether you will one day be bad enough to go to hell.  The Bible says that if you have committed even one sin, you are already condemned (James 2:10).   If you turn from sin and receive Christ, you will be completely forgiven.  If you reject Him, you cannot be!

ACTS 2:38  "... Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins..."

JOHN 11:25-26  "Jesus said to her 'I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me, even though he were dead, yet shall he live; and he who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

HEBREWS 2:3  "How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?"

JOHN 1:12  "But as many as RECEIVED HIM, to them He gave the power to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in  His name."

Believe, Admit, Repent, Receive JESUS CHRIST!

Hebrews 11:6 Romans 10:9 Acts 3:19 John 1:12
